Walking
Everyone knows how to walk, it’s the easiest activity to take part in, and you can do it virtually anywhere without any special or expensive gear. All you need is a comfortable pair of shoes.
Walking regularly is a great form of exercise and you'll benefit by feeling healthier, saving money and knowing that you're doing your bit for the environment. It’s also a fantastic way of exploring your local area. Your feet can take you to places nothing else can!
Walking is quick too. By the time you’ve found your car keys, some change for the meter and a space to park, you may well have been able to walk to the paper shop or library and home again. Your feet are also reliable, so you can predict your journey time and enjoy walking past all those people stuck in traffic jams.
Getting around Lowestoft by foot is fun too! Nowhere is very far, and although a mile sounds like a long way to walk it'll probably only take about 20 minutes. If you leave your car behind you’ll burn calories (not carbon), and you’ll save money on petrol, parking and all those other expenses.
